In this podcast, we speak with Dr Harriet Nash, a consultant at the Aflaj Research Unit at Nizwa University and a consultant hydrogeologist. Her work within the field of hydrogeology has seen her work across the Middle East and Northern Africa for many years including Oman. Her recent research has focused on the falaj system of irrigation and specifically how stars were used for timing the systems across Oman.
In this podcast we explore her career and research in Oman, focusing on the fascinating history and heritage found in Oman’s falaj system and the variety of timing methods employed alongside it.
